catching up

Haven't updated in a while. School has been keeping me incredibly busy the past few weeks, but I'm loving it. I'm finally feeling like my work is good again. At the beginning of this semester I felt pretty blah about everything except for my lyric masterclass material. Probably too much of my personal life getting in the way of my writing. Not that I've been unhappy. I keep busy and feel like I'm pretty much jubilant most every day. It's just that writing is so solitary sometimes, and I get moody.

Blah blah blah.

So! I failed at having opera month, and I think poker month pretty much won't happen either, but I sort of don't care at this point. I have so many other projects going on that I'm more interested in, so not writing a gimmicky book is just fine by me. I will still do yoga and see operas and play card games, but I'm not going to give these little things all my focus. Especially since I'm obsessing (OBSESSING!) over the podcast and Arkansissy (working title).

We just recorded the second episode of Meridian 13 News, and it'll be up and running tomorrow on the blog, and hopefully on iTunes as well. Find it here!!!! I didn't have a character in this month's, so don't strain your ears for me, but I did write a kick ass song and a scene. We're all putting so much effort into it, and I love the material we're creating. I could really see it taking off, but at this stage it's still just so much fun to get together and write this stuff that I'm happy even if it doesn't get big.

Arkansissy, however, will definitely be a massive success!!! The lovable Brandon James Gwinn and I are forming a comedy country music group. We're also contemplating making our fabulous lives into a reality show, because we are frequently the same person and this amuses us to no end. I swear, I'm getting a camcorder, and fabulous videos of us roaming the city streets for hours on end in search of cowboy boots will soon be on youtube, and it will be hilarious. Trust me on this one. Like pee your pants funny. Well, maybe just to us, but that's all that really matters.

Saw Blithe Spirit last night. It felt kind of like watching a dress rehearsal, but it was still enjoyable. It's in previews, and some lines were botched and there were a couple dead moments. Christine Ebersole and Jayne Aktinson were both wonderful though. Angela Lansbury has way more energy than an 83 year old should have, but she was really a treat. Can't wait to have her sign my Postive Moves book. Google it. You'll see.

Gotta run. Party tonight!!
