Back to life

I auditioned again! On Wednesday for Wednesday. In the Addams Family musical. Anyway, it was nice to be back in the theatre world. I saw lots of familiar faces. Not people I actually know, but audition faces, you know? The same people go to all of these things. Anyway, I'm going to two auditions today. Just trying to get back into the swing of things. Auditioning for Vanities and Everyday Rapture (the new musical by Sherie Renee Scott?????). I miss the Equity building. I should get my flu shot while I'm there too. I've never had a flu shot before. I hope that it doesn't make me sick. Tom says it always makes him sick when he gets flu shots.

Anyway, gotta run.

Of School and Other Things

I saw Boeing Boeing last night. Go see it. Missi Pyle is HILARIOUS. I'm slightly obsessed with her right now. I've been looking up clips of her on Youtube. She's a riot.

Classes are going well. I'm learning a lot about how I communicate in regards to character, and I'm becoming a better collaborator (I hope). I've also made new friends, and I'm learning new shows every week. We're listening to classics and some lesser known shows as well in history, and I'm meeting amazing people. Larry Maslon, William Finn, Lee Adams! I'm very lucky to be in this program, and I am so grateful for the opportunities it's giving me.

I just updated my website again. I promise I'll keep things a little more up-to-date. I've just been so busy.

I wrote a one act play yesterday. We were given an assignment to write as much as we could for one hour straight in an attempt to write the worst play possible, but somehow or other I wound up with a play that I really enjoy. Also, yesterday I was asked to collaborate on a new project that really excites me, and the composer already has the rights and everything!!! OMG! I'm thrilled to start working on this.

I'm also currently hoping to get an internship. This weekend I hope to apply for about three different ones, but there are two I'd prefer. More on that later. Speaking of working with theatre companies, I was just put on the board of the New Helvetia Theatre Company in Sacaramento, California. Much much more on this to come soon. I'm stoked. Okay, must go write things other than blog entries.

blerg

I've not updated in a couple weeks. Anyway, here we go. Grad school is going well, and I'm writing a lot, and some of the stuff I write even turns out halfway decent. I love writing, and I love getting to sing for people all the time. Point is, school pleases me and I love it.

That said, I have been in the dumps the past week or so, and I feel like I'm still going to be in the dumps for a while. I'll get over it, but I'm gloomy right now. Don't worry about me. I know what's going on.

I found my friend Gillian's blog today, and thought it had so many things in common with mine, that I thought it was someone mocking me. Then I realized it was hers, and felt much better. How arrogant of me, right? To think that someone would waste their time writing a mock blog of my life?

Tom's bday is today. He gets back from Scranton tomorrow. I'm excited to finally see him again. It's been ages. NYAS needs him. It has barely functioned since he left. Today's meeting was cancelled. We only had two people planning to attend, so we moved it back. Hopefully things will pick up soon.

I went with a bunch of grad school peeps to Legally Blonde last night. I'm glad I got to see it again before it closes in a couple weeks. The score is so smart. I can't stand it. I liked Bailey a lot, though i do think she looks a little too young for the role. We sat on the second row, which was nice. It was so close. I guess I've always had good seats at blonde though. I'll miss the show, but I understand that it's had a good run and it's time to say goodbye. It's been a lot of fun for me just know all the crazy little things I've known about it for the past five years. I hope the tour has a great life and I wish all the best to the cast and creative team. I'm sure they'll all move on to bigger and better projects.

Anyway, speaking of bigger and better, I need to get back to writing. until we meet again.
